With a grand price of 1 MILLION NAIRA, it is safe to say that the Black and Yellow Challenge was the most anticipated social media challenge for up and coming music artists and even we their sponsors.
Starting from May 22nd, intending participants were asked to compose a freestyle that represents the Plentywaka brand, using a beat we provided them. They were to vibe along and post on their respective social media pages and the videos with the most engagements moved on to the next round of voting. Ayodele Enoch Awoniyi didn’t only take over the engagement airways, he also competitively shattered the voting system racking in almost 2,000 votes.
Here’s what he had to say;
After seeing all the entries, we had no other option but to recognize the efforts and dedication of all contestants and after careful deliberation and consideration, we decided to compensate the 1st and 2nd runner ups with cash prizes of N150,000 and N100,000 and gave the next 7 entries N20,000 wakacredit for them to use when trying to get around within their city (Dailywaka) or to another city in Nigeria (Travelwaka).
Our goal wasn’t only to launch a campaign for our theme song but also find a creative way to showcase some of Nigeria’s strongest undiscovered vocalists as they competed for an ultimate prize.
