After the successful launch of Plentywaka, Nigeria’s first bus-hailing app, in Lagos and Abuja, the technology-driven transport company today announces the launch of a new car-hailing service, Wakacab in Asaba and Warri Delta State. This was borne out of the need to expand and improve on the limited transport links in southern Nigeria.
With the launch of the new-car hailing service, commuters in Asaba and Warri are sure to enjoy comfort, safety, stress-free, and very affordable rides within major roads in the city. This, Plentywaka has successfully provided to commuters in Lagos and Abuja, hence its tremendous growth in numbers which reads over 50,000+ users, 240,000+ completed rides and 45,000 downloads on its mobile App.
Using the Plentywaka App which can be found on the Google Playstore and the IOS App store, riders in Asaba and Warri can order a Wakacab ride from the comfort of their homes, select a driver within a one to a five-kilometer radius, be issued a QR code which is scanned upon entering the vehicle and make payments via cash or the Plentywaka’s e-wallet system, Wakapurse at their drop-off location.
“Expanding the Plentywaka brand into Delta State with a car-hailing service, after launching in 2019 is a testament to our success and the importance of staying true to the vision, said Johnny Enagwolor, Plentywaka’s President and Co-Founder. “But it also shows our commitment to solving the issues of transport in Nigeria; and that does not necessarily mean a one size fits all approach to each state. We recognized that there was a large shortfall in a private car and technology-driven services compared to the other states we operate in, therefore the proposition had to be different for Asaba and Warri.”
To also create an opportunity for people to not just experience the Plentywaka service, but also partner and earn, the company would be extending the Plentywaka Vehicle Partnership (PVP) scheme to Asaba. With this, people can register their vehicles on the platform and earn over N250,000 per month, similar to the Uber-style model. Upon registration, all drivers would undergo the company’s official training scheme, have their vehicles well inspected before given the license to operate.
Alongside its move into Asaba, Plentywaka will also extend its car-hailing service to the state of Warri, marking the latest push in a spree of activity which has seen the company recently announced a partnership with Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) as well raise over $300,000 in investment.
In response to and compliance with regulations concerning the COVID- 19 pandemic also, Plentywaka assures commuters adequate safety precautions that would be adopted in all the Plentywaka vehicles.
