Treepz successfully concludes Pilot test in Canada ahead of major operation launch in 2025

Following its successful vehicle rental pilot test, Treepz, Africa’s leading corporate mobility startup, is set to fully launch commercial operations in Ontario, Canada, by 2025. This is a crucial step in the startup’s ongoing global growth and expansion plans to provide structured, safe, and technology-driven transportation solutions to individuals and businesses beyond Africa.

The pilot program, conducted in North York City, provided school bus services for over 50 high school students from the Youth Association for Academics, Athletics, and Character Education (YAAACE). A 52-seater vehicle was utilized to ensure smooth transportation of the students to and from the event venue.

Commenting on this achievement, Onyeka Akumah, Founder & CEO of Treepz, said: “The success of this pilot is a significant milestone in our global journey. It affirms the viability of our innovative mobility solutions and demonstrates our readiness to serve the Canadian market. We’re proud of our team’s dedication and hard work in laying the groundwork for structured, safe, and reliable operations in Ontario, and we’re deeply grateful to our investors and local partners for their invaluable support in making Treepz Canada a reality.

Treepz’s expansion into Canada is part of its broader strategy to offer services such as employee transportation, school shuttles, and vehicle rentals. Last month, Treepz was selected by the World Trade Center Toronto to join the prestigious 2024 Trade Accelerator Program (TAP), a prestigious initiative designed to support high-growth businesses with their global expansion.

Ahead of the major launch in 2025, Treepz has signed up 37 vehicles from local operators to bolster its transportation network in Toronto and foster a seamless experience for commuters. The startup is also collaborating with key local organizations such as Invest Brampton, the Economic Development Office, York University, and the World Trade Centers Trade Accelerator Program to support its expansion efforts and ensure a seamless entry into the Canadian market in the coming year.
